Wie online High Stakes Spelers zegt, kan niet om Ziigmund heen. Hij schuwt niemand en speelt tegen iedereen, waaronder Phil Ivey, Patrick Antonius, Durrrr, Phil Galfond, Isildur1, Gus Hansen en vele andere online kanonnen. Ziigmund online zien spelen is een feest. Vaak ontwikkelen zich grote potten van over de 100k en ook zijn TableTalk/Chatabuse en ongekende bluffs zijn zeer vermakelijk. Wanneer Ziigmund speelt, betekent het actie en zijn trouwe railbirds moedigen hem in grote getale aan. Ook heeft Ziigmund er geen probleem mee om dronken te spelen, wat hij vaak ook zelf zegt terwijl hij speelt. Het lijkt zijn spel niet echt te beïnvloeden. Mede door zijn flamboyante karakter en gedrag heeft waarschijnlijk een grote Pokerroom het nooit aangedurfd hem te sponsoren. Ziigmund wordt nu gesponsord door PowerPoker.


Ziigmund begon al op 15 jarige leeftijd met pokeren, na het gezien te hebben op TV. Ook was Ilari helemaal gek van sporten. Voetbal, basketbal, worstelen en biljarten. Hij presteerde het zelfs om tweemaal Fins jeugdkampioen biljarten te worden. Spelletjes/Competitie zaten dus in zijn genen. Zijn interesse in poker werden groter, toen hij wat Homegames ging bezoeken en daar ook een bekende van de Poolhal ontmoette ,…. Patrick Antonius. Zij werden goede vrienden. Ilari kon niet wachten tot hij 18 werd. Hij wist dat er geld was te verdienen en wilde daar optimaal van profiteren.

Ilari heeft met veel pijn en moeite zijn High School doorlopen. Eindelijk 18 jaar geworden, volgde een snel bezoek aan het Grand Casino in Helsinki. Een game die daar gespeeld werd was de 2$ of 5$ PL Omaha. Naast de normale Holdem Games, zag hij dat op de PL Omaha veel slechte spelers zaten en het easy money was. Ook begon hij op diverse sites online te spelen. Ilari_FIN ( PokerStars , Dik Ahamo (Betfair), Ecs_Tasy (Martins Poker), Kamasutra (Ladbrokes), Sutrakama (Microgaming/Prima) Hij begon op de 25/50 NL, maar ging al heel snel shotjes nemen op hogere stakes. Waardoor hij diversen malen broke ging. Hij vertelt hier zelf over, dat hij op zoek was naar de thrill en de kick en totaal niet aan BRM deed. Tijdens zijn high school, had hij ook vele baantjes om zijn hobby en reisjes te bekostigen. Hij werkte onder andere bij een benzinepomp en op een callcenter. Zijn reisjes waren nog tijdens zijn schooltijd en meestal naar een casino in het noorden van Europa.
Mooie anekdote uit die tijd was, dat hij weer eens niet op school was verschenen. De directeur belde hem op en hij vertelde doodleuk , dat hij een poker toernooi aan het spelen was in Amsterdam. Amper zijn zin te hebben uitgesproken viel zijn telefoon uit. De batterij was op.

Eind 2006 vond Ziigmund FulltiltPoker, hij voelde zich er direct thuis en het upmoven kom beginnen. Binnen enkele maanden zat hij op de hoogste limieten te spelen. Zijn games daar waren Holdem, PL Omha en Horse. Hij begon bekend te worden en schuwde geen actie.
In 2008 won hij 1.6 miljoen $ dollar. Het grote publiek begon hem nu ook te kennen en te waarderen om zijn speelstijl. Zeer agressief, onberekenend, bizarre calls en dikke bluffs. Daarbij zijn table-trashtalk en de Ziggy- railers waren een feit. Daarentegen speelde hij steeds minder live. Ook de grote live toernooien liet hij vaak schieten. Toch heeft hij live nog een winnings van 327.000 $. Wanneer Ziigmund wat tilt of slecht runt of dronken is, vraagt hij zijn tegenstander regelmatig om flips aan te gaan. Deze variëren van blind 10.000 $ in de pot te schuiven tot 40.000 $. Ook was Ziigmund de eerste speler, die de 1.000.000 $ bereikte aan een online tafel. Zie tablechat ☺

2010 was een rampjaar voor Ziigmund online. Hij verloor circa 2.000.000 $ en niks liep. Veel coolers , bad beats en een hele dikke downswing. Hij begon aan zich te twijfelen en overwoog begin 2011 om zelfs even te stoppen. Dit schreef Ilari in zijn blog.

Its new year but it started like last year ended if we speak about poker.Im totally tired for poker at this moment...I play very bad but I have been unbelievable unlucky also...havent got 2 winning day in a row...maybe last 3 months and thats sick...I was on holiday over 1 month in Thailand and the trip was very nice....Played there little bit poker and lost of course,but only like 70k...thats ok.hehe.I came to Finland two days ago and started play yesterday...I was winning ok aganst Jungleman but then again came one pot which tells very well how is it gone lately....of course I have played my worst game also but fcking unlucky too anyway....won yesterday 65k but lost 140k 30 minutes ago...I dont feel good about playing poker so maybe I should quit...Maybe I cant play anymore...Many people think now "Hey Ziigmund,You never can played poker"...but Im still hopeful that someday I ll be back...Maybe I really should grind 25 50 or lower few weeks....but how the fcuk I can..lets see..good luck everybody.

Gelukkig is Ziigmund niet gestopt. Hij begon zich te ergeren aan de FTP software en geloofde dat hij daar niet meer winnend kon spelen. Hij ging zijn geluk beproeven op Pokerstars Helaas tot op heden veel actie, maar wederom verlies. Net bij het afronden van dit artikel bleek Ziigmund toch weer op FullTilt te zijn gesignaleerd , maar had wederom weinig geluk. In 3 sessie’s verloor hij ruim $215.00 . Iedereen wacht en hoopt op de ommekeer, het is echter na Black Friday goed mogelijk, dat Ziigmund zijn heil gaat zoeken op de europese site’s. Er zijn natuurlijk ook wat wetenswaardigheden over Ziigmund. Hij speelt regelmatig een sessie van 12 uur of meer. Hij staat bekend om zijn jackass movies op youtube. Zoals Tequila drinken, maar eerst zout snuiven en citroen in de ogen persen. Ziigmund heeft in Bobby’s Room in de Bellagio gespeeld. Hij verloor daar een pot van 2.400.000 $, maar won ook een pot van 1.700.000 $. Hij speelde in High Stakes Poker en Poker after Dark. Speelde dronken een finale tafel live. Hij moest even plassen en zijn tegenstander pikte zijn blinds. Terug gekomen en dit opgemerkt te hebben, ging hij iedere hand allin. Zijn pokervrienden zijn Patrick Antonius, Thomas Wahlroos, Sami (LarzLuzak) Kelopuro, Ville (Isokala) Wahlbeck en Jani Vilmunen . Is dol op Kebab met rijst en zeker met een kater eet hij wel 3 broodjes kebab. Verloor dronken 700.000 $ in een sessie online. Speelt dronken met vrienden tegen Durrrr terwijl hij gefilmd wordt. Last but least zijn trashtalk in de chat wanneer hij speelt. Vaak zijn deze hilarisch en het forum 2+2 heeft er zelfs een topic over geopend.
